Workshop overview
This workshop is designed to acquaint new managers/supervisors with today’s business world by:
- introducing foundations and challenges of starting, growing and managing business in a global environment;
- focusing on fundamentals and functions of management such as key leadership and management skills, vision and ethical standards, and the strategic planning process;
- exploring the strategic importance of major business functions such as marketing, human resources, accounting and finance.
The workshop aims to provide attendees with a contemporary view of business strategies for competitive advantage, and to allow them to explore skills and capabilities required for success in their business careers.
Prerequisite
The course, rather than exhibit in-depth technical analysis of each individual topic, expose the attendees to a broad spectrum of managerial aspects and issues of Managing Business.
The workshop will be interactive, requiring involvement of attendees in class discussions and presentations.
Workshop levels- Who is it for?
Every manager who is in charge of a team
Supervisors and new managers (N)
Managers, team leaders and supervisors who implement corporate strategy at the first line (typically with up to 3 years of experience in this role or equivalent).
Middle managers (M)
Managers - especially with engineering backgrounds, who contribute to the formulation of corporate strategy and are responsible for its implementation within their departments/units (typically with 4 to 7 years of experience in this role or equivalent).
